March Weather - a respite from recent rain but marked by a biting North Easterly wind

Pic:  Eric GilbertPic: Eric GilbertA change in the month and thankfully a brief change in the weather as the beginning of March brought far less rain and a dry day on March 3.   However by March 4 the unsettled weather returned with twelve consecutive days when rainfall was recorded.  The wettest day of the month occurred on March 9 with 15.6mm of precipitation.

Is this a scam? If so, beware an e-mail asking for money for the NHS

Is this a scam?  Very likely.....Is this a scam? Very likely.....We've been alerted to an e-mail being circulated that appears to be the from NHS asking for donations towards the 'purchase of medical equipmet and supplies', and more (see above).  We've asked contacts within the NHS if it is genuine and the replies have all been that it is a scam.  It is a well-presented scam, it appears authentic and but is likely to be just another device for criminals to extract money from the well-intentioned public.  Our advice would be to ignore it, bin it and not attempt to reply in any way.

From the front line - what’s happening elsewhere: Nova Scotia, Canada

Upper Tantallon, Nova ScotiaUpper Tantallon, Nova ScotiaMike Moss is a former student of Marlborough Grammar School.  Growing up in Chiseldon he has fond memories of his years spent in what later became the Stedman Building (class of 1970).  On leaving the Grammar School he studied Medicine in London, specialising in Pathology before taking a year's role in the flying doctor service on the Labrador coast in Canada.  That year evolved into a permanent move with Mike and his wife settling down on Canada's West Coast in British Columbia, before retirement last year and move back East to Nova Scotia, from where they are dealing with the Covid-19
