When eight year old Esme Veale, a pupil at Preshute Primary School, decided to have her long hair cut short it seemed a waste to just throw it away. Instead she has donated thirteen inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust.
The Trust provides free, real-hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of twenty four who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions, thus helping to restore their confidence and identity. Established in 2006 The Little Princess Trust has supplied over 8,000 wigs and invested over £5 million into childhood cancer research.
Katy Veale, Esme’s mother told Marlborough.news, “Her family are really proud of what Esme has done. She wanted to share the joy of having long hair and to give someone else the opportunity to have her hair. She has such a kind heart.”
Esme has also set up a Justgiving page in order to raise money for The Little Princess Trust towards the cost of making the wigs. Click here if you would like to contribute via ‘Just Giving’.
