It was announced today (Monday 9 September) that Nerissa Vaughan, Chief Executive of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be standing down
Announcing her decision, Liam Coleman, Chair of the Trust said: ”Nerissa Vaughan has, after a period of ill health, decided to leave the Trust to continue her recovery and then to pursue other opportunities.
Nerissa joined the Trust as Chief Executive on 1 October 2011. During this time, she successfully integrated Wiltshire Community services and then Swindon Community services into the Trust. Subsequently, setting up Wiltshire Health and Care as an LLP to deliver Wiltshire’s Community services.
More recently, she has secured significant inward capital investment into the Trust to expand A&E services, as well as gaining final approval for Radiotherapy Services to be developed in Swindon.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nerissa for all that she has done to contribute to the Trust’s success and wish her all the best in the future.”
The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will move forward to appoint a new Chief Executive in due course but in the interim period prior to an appointment by the Council of Governors Kevin McNamara will continue to lead the Executive Team, working with the Chair, Liam Coleman and the Non-Executive Directors.
