Remembrance ceremony on pitch held as youth football returns to Great Bedwyn after a long 11-year gap

The village of Great Bedwyn has recently seen a return of youth football, after an 11 year wait and last Sunday morning held a Remembrance ceremony on the memorial field dedicated to those in the Village that lost their lives in the 2nd World War.

Robin Gibson (team coach and manager) said the whole team were delighted to have been invited to the short memorial service and ceremony, so that the current generation could pay their respects to the brave men from the village who had laid down their lives in the past.

The service and ceremony was conducted in beautiful sunshine beneath the trees which were planted in their honour.

Marlborough Youth FC U15 side have made the pitch their home base for the 2019/20 season, following a collaborative  arrangement between the Field Trustees and  MYFC to maintain grass cutting  and lining of the pitch through the season.

The opening of Wendy's Community Café on a Sunday Morning has also proved popular with spectators and travelling supporters.
